Privacy notice

How MassageNear handles website requests, search terms, business directory information and contact emails, with details of privacy enquiries and corrections.

This notice describes the MassageNear directory website. The operator and data controller is Serallo Domains Ltd. For privacy questions, email tom@serallo.co.uk.

Using the website

You can browse listings and guides without an account. The application does not provide online treatment booking, payment processing, patient records or a newsletter subscription. It does not add advertising trackers or analytics cookies.

Our hosting infrastructure processes ordinary web requests and may keep access and security logs. These can include an IP address, requested page, date and time, browser information and referring page where supplied. They are used to deliver the website, understand faults and protect the service from misuse.

Search terms appear in the results-page address. They may therefore appear in browser history and hosting logs. Search by business name, place or postcode; do not enter a medical history or sensitive personal details into the directory search.

Business directory information

The directory contains supplied business and practitioner records, including names, addresses, phone numbers and website or contact links where available. Some business contact information may also be personal information, for example where a sole trader uses their own name or a business address is also a home address.

We use this information to provide a public directory and help people contact relevant services. The basis for routine publication and administration is our legitimate interest in providing an accurate, useful business directory, balanced against the interests and rights of the people concerned. A record is not an independent verification of a provider's professional status.

Tell us if information is inaccurate, is not a public business contact or raises a privacy concern. Include enough information to identify the record and the change you want considered. We may need to establish the connection between the requester and the information before making a change.

Contact emails

If you email us, we receive the address you use, the message and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to handle the enquiry, investigate a reported error and keep an appropriate record of the outcome. This is part of administering the website and responding to requests.

Please do not send patient notes, detailed medical histories, payment-card information or identity documents in an initial enquiry. We are not a healthcare provider and the contact address is not a clinical consultation service.

Sharing and retention

Public listings are visible to website visitors and may be indexed by search engines. Infrastructure and email providers process information needed to host the site and handle correspondence. We do not operate a service that sells search histories or sends treatment enquiries to providers on your behalf.

We retain directory information while it remains relevant to the directory, subject to corrections and appropriate removal requests. Enquiry correspondence is retained only for as long as reasonably needed to resolve it and maintain a necessary record of decisions. Routine technical logs are retained according to the hosting and security arrangements, rather than used as patient records.

Following a provider's website or booking-page link takes you to a separate service with its own privacy terms. Our website does not control what information that provider requests or how it processes it. Check the destination before entering personal or health information.

Your information rights

Depending on the circumstances, data-protection law gives rights concerning access, correction, deletion, objection and other uses of personal information. These rights are not all unconditional. GOV.UK explains the main rights, and the ICO explains how to request a correction.

Contact us to exercise a right or raise a concern. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office through ico.org.uk. This notice will be updated if the website's actual data-handling features change.
